Eight SCV35 employees standing in front of a blow up sign stating "Welcome 2024-2025".

Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 hosted its Welcome Back Event on August 2, 2024 for all faculty and staff. The event consisted of various activities that provided its attendees with a warm and energetic start to the 2024-2025 school year. Employees enjoyed a breakfast buffet provided by Sodexo, a fun photo booth with props, performances by the Rio Rico High School Hawx Dance Team and Marching Band, and inspiring speeches from Superintendent David Verdugo and various dignitaries.

SCV35 recognized outstanding faculty and staff from the 2023-2024 school year and their continuous and monumental efforts to provide extraordinary education to the district’s youth. New employees were also individually introduced and welcomed to the district. SCV35 is especially grateful to their amazing sponsors (Santa Cruz County School Superintendent Office, Edward Jones Investments, International Medical Solutions, Grand Canyon University, and Meritain Health) who provided invaluable support before and throughout the event.

As we enter a new school year full of endless possibilities and opportunities, we encourage all to Educate Everyone Everyday and to go Above the Bar.
